Villa Vacay is located on the idyllic Cofresi Beach in Puerto Plata Province in the Dominican Republic. Cofresi Beach is named after a notorious Puerto Rican pirate, Captain Roberto Cofresi. The town began as a tiny fishing village that remained a sleepy bay on the Atlantic for many years.
In the present day, Cofresi Beach has changed but only slightly, with top-end hotels and holiday apartments that offer visitors great views of the beach and the nearby mountains. Cofresi Beach is still defined by its golden sand that blends into crystal clear water. Cofresi Beach is accessed via one narrow road that runs all the way to the beach. Mountains peak on either side of the city.
